- DescriptionThe second major engraving from the Turner Prize winning artist. Impressive in it's scale alone, this work takes on a whole new fascination upon closer inspection. Vaguely reminiscent of an antique map, the details reveal that the people of this land are living in a war zone divided by their bigotry, biases and ideology. The varied and numerous 'groups' which represent a broad cross-section of our society, or the World in which we live ('agnostics', 'provincials', 'homosexuals', 'scientologists' to name only a few) make up a complex, rich and detailed battle scene which unfolds as one's eyes roam across it's surface. As Perry comments, "my work has always had a guerilla tactic, a stealth tactic. I want to make something that lives with the eye as a beautiful piece of art, but on closer inspection, a polemic or ideology will come out of it." His work offers endless surprises, touching us with its satire, sadness, anger, humour and hurt. Printed on 400 gsm Rives Vellin arches blanc paper. Each print is signed and numbered on the reverse by the artist.
