Unique work from a series executed in 1981, silkscreen on cotton t-shirt, featuring Warhol's iconic Tomato Soup image.
This work comes directly from the Estate of Andy Warhol and was in the artist's possession upon his passing.
Initialled (inside, lower edge) by Ted Hughes, the executor of Andy Warhol's estate and with the 'Estate of Andy Warhol 'and 'The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc.' ink stamps.
This work was produced using the same screens as Warhol's large iconic Tomato Soup can prints and paintings, presented here with a beautiful abstraction as the cotton was silkscreened without first being completely flattened.
Provenance
Estate of Andy Warhol (The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts) | Artificial Gallery (London)
