A rare, signed drawing of a dancing man by Keith Haring, executed in black marker pen onto the frontispiece of a catalogue published to coincide with a solo exhibition by the artist at Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles: "Keith Haring 1988: A one-man exhibition in Los Angeles of paintings, drawings and prints".
The show comprised ten paintings on canvas, thirty black & white drawings and five colour silkscreen prints.
At the opening, Keith Haring was happy to sign copies for buyers of the catalogue and most commonly added a small drawing of a crawling baby (if they were lucky).
This example, uncommonly, with a rare large drawing of a dancing man, made for a Belgian collector (Antwerp) and signed and dated '89', along with the artist's insignia.
Originally framed with a matt concealing the sheet edges, the work has recently been re-framed, showing the story of the show catalogue with exposed torn left sheet edge (as removed from the catalogue).
A rare example with a strong drawing.
