Six pages, with text by Andrea Miller-Keller, exploring the process and iconography of Haring's chalk NYC subway drawings from the early 1980s, and photographs by Tseng Kwong Chi.
Additionally includes a blue foldout insert featuring four Keith Haring illustrations.
Includes an exhibition checklist and selected exhibition bibliography.
Hole-punched pages are original to the pamphlet.
At the preview on June 4, 1983, Haring created spontaneous sumi ink drawings on the gallery floor. The event also included a 'Slide Talk' where Haring presented flyer drawings he had created, one of which was chosen to be printed as a poster.
The Wadsworth Atheneum's 'Matrix' series of exhibitions were dedicated to contemporary art and the Haring exhibition was part of this series. Other artists in this series included Christo (1976), Jasper Johns (1976), Edward Ruscha (1976), Daniel Buren (1977), Andy Warhol (1979), Robert Mapplethorpe (1984) and Cindy Sherman (1986).Provenance
